It is time that your kids enjoy hard work, it is time that your kids value people no matter what they look like, it is time that kids value people for their character and it is time your kids reach their potential.

All that sport is credited for building is dwarfed by CrossFit Kids. I could write all day long and that would just take longer for you to sign your child up. Sign them up now and tell me in a year how it was the best decision you have ever made.

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP/CLASSES

What are all the classes and Levels?

Functional Fitness membership classes-These classes would be what we recommend for new people and/or those really wanting to focus on the foundational principles of baseline human fitness.

What this would look like is to become proficient at moving your body (push ups, sit ups, air squats, lunges, etc etc) as well as becoming adept at cardiovascular movements (running, rowing, skiing, burpees, jumping, etc etc).

This class would also spend a good amount of time working on mobility (flexibility) to help people better handle the positions necessary to do the above mentioned exercises and stay away from injury.

This program is not mandatory but setup for those who may be lacking in fitness level, knowledge of the above movements or just kind of freaked out by CrossFit.

There are weighted movements with equipment such as kettlebells, medicine balls, dumbbells but minimal use of barbells.

The program can be skipped (just sign up for a CrossFit membership), can be attended forever or can be used as a starting point before ultimately moving up to CrossFit classes.

This membership is good for Functional Fitness classes and Yoga classes (NOT CrossFit, Olympic or Open Gym).

CrossFit membership classes-what the Levels within the class focus on

-Level 1 would be an extension from the Functional Fitness classes incorporating more weight, more barbell movements and more dynamic exercises. Like all classes and levels, this would always be weight and skill appropriate for each member within class. A typical CrossFit class with mobility, warm up, skill, strength and WOD.

Where this differs from Functional Fitness classes is that it is faster paced, more reps, more weight, more is expected from the members in terms of knowing what is going on and better able to push themselves.

Modifications galore at this level with gymnastic and weightlifting movements.

-Level 2 incorporates Olympic lifting, heavier weight and asks for increased skill level in comparison to Level 1. This level is for a well rounded CrossFitter which in general means you have multiple pull ups, double unders, are familiar with the Olympic lifts, handstand push ups, etc etc.

-Level 3 will ask for anything at any given time (this is regional/games level training)

*note: your level may vary based on what is asked on a specific day, there is no pre-set level . We want people choosing the level that is most appropriate to keep them safe while also pushing them to get better.

Olympic Lifting this is all about the clean, jerk and snatch. This is all about form, technique, strength and doing the lifts. This is a class offered for CrossFit members and is one that calls for a baseline level of strength, mobility and understanding of basic squatting and deadlifting techniques.

If you struggle with the overhead squat, front squat and or the deadlift you shouldn't attend this class and keep working on those movements in class as well as your mobility.

Open Gym/Power Hour this is for CrossFit members and is available for them (no trainer) to do the side MetCon, side Strength, that days programming and WOD, mobility or just something that they may want to work on.

The trainer will be with a different class at this time so the expectation is that people attending this session will have their own stuff to do or will be able to read and follow what is on the board for them during this time.

Yoga this is available to all CrossFit and Functional Fitness members (sorry, not CF Kids or 10 class pass). You can purchase yoga classes during yoga class with the trainer if you are not a CF member.

2 day per week, 1 day per week These are memberships that allow you to come either 1 or 2 classes per week (do not check in at the computer for Yoga class). These memberships are cheaper to allow people who can't attend 3-6 days per week.

10 class pass This membership allows people who can't consistently attend still workout with us but it is based on class and not a per month or week membership. This membership does not include Yoga or Open Gym/Power Hour.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if I am totally freaked out and think there is no way I can do this?

Do our FUNCTIONAL FITNESS classes.. We don't need people to be anything other than willing to try their best to be their best. All of our members started from scratch so they know exactly what you are feeling and only want to support you through this process.

The trainers are here to help you, not to judge you but to help you progress each day in an appropriate manner.

Come in, find the trainer (ask if you can't figure it out) and they will take it from there. They will make sure you can do everything and keep all the movements appropriate to your fitness level.

You can do this, nothing here is stopping you from doing this so COME ON IN!

See the schedule and register for your free class at one of the Functional Fitness classes.

If you're in really good shape or have been a CrossFitter then do the same but at a CrossFit class.

How do I know which class to come try out?

The Functional Fitness classes are the best ones for new people unless they're already a CrossFitter.

How do we contact you?

shoot us a line through the "contact" portion of this website or email us at info@crossfitnewalbany.com or leave us a voicemail at (614) 918-7414

Do you have child supervision?
We have a room for them as well as supervision at the 930am class M-F.

CrossFit New Albany:
Monday-Friday 930am

*the kid room is open (without supervision) at all other classes.

CrossFit Olentangy:
Monday-Friday 930am
*the kid room is open (without supervision) at all other classes.

What is the difference between the normal UNLIMITED and 2 or 1 day per week and even the 10 class pass memberships?...

The unlimited membership allows you to attend class as many times as you want per week.

The 2 days a week allows you to attend 2 classes each week and 1 day allows you to attend 1 class per week. You will not be allowed to attend a 3rd/2nd day unless you change your mind and upgrade your membership.

The 10 class pass is good for 1 year and you get to attend 10 classes on your schedule.

What is this 10 card pass thing as a membership option?

This is meant for people who rarely attend, may come to town 1 weekend a month or basically just don't attend 2 days per week.

Once the 10 visits are up you will be required to purchase again in order to attend class.

Do I have to start at the Functional Fitness classes?
No. You can jump right into the CrossFit classes if you feel ready. It is up to you.

What if I'm not sure if the place is for me?
Try us out once and you'll know. Register for a free class on our schedule, come to a Functional Fitness session.

Can your program prepare me for things such as marathons, triathlons, warrior dash, competitions, sports, etc?
No better program in the world to prepare you for not only specific events, but also for everything non-specific.

When should I start my membership?
Before you show up. It starts the day you start and gives you 30/31 days before the money comes out again.

How will you know who I am?
Shoot us an email so we know all about you. You also check in on our computer at the gym.

Can I do the Level 2 or Level 3 workouts in the CrossFit classes or do I need to do Level 1?

We will tell you what we think is best for you and you can go from there.

How do I stay updated?
Friend us/Follow us on facebook, twitter @cfnewalbany @cfolentangy and instagram @cfnewalbany @cfolentangy

What is the class schedule and do I need to book in order to attend?
The schedule is on the website and no booking for the classes. You check in on the computer at the start of class.

Can I bring new people to try it out?
Yes of course, please do! People can try it once and then they can either become a member or not. Do not bring them to Olympic class. You do get $20 if they join (let us know)!
How to cancel... Why would you want to do that?
Shoot us an email 10 days before renewal and we can cancel you. Letting us know why is always great because we're always trying to get better.

Can I workout at any CrossFit place with this membership?
Our membership is good at CrossFit New Albany and CrossFit Olentangy, but we recommend you attending other CrossFit boxes while on vacation. Simply email the location and let them know you'll be in town. Some places allow you to workout there for free and other places are not so free.

Can I just show up and try a class?
Register for a free class on our schedule first and then come to that class.

What do I do at the start of class?
Mobility in the mobility area. Don’t be lazy on this as it is a very important part of class and allows you to better handle the class movements/exercises and helps keep you away from injury.

I'm a woman and I'm afraid I'll bulk up...
Eat the right way, sleep enough, manage your stress and workout the right way. What you look like after doing that is what you’re supposed to look like.

What women are supposed to look like in this country is a huge joke so please don’t fall into that.

Women are not made to bulk up and especially not when you do full body, full range of motion, core to extremity exercises.

The women on ESPN at the CrossFit Games or on the Grid League are the most in shape women in the world and workout for a living so yes they are going to have more muscles than the average CrossFitter (same for the men). They are amazing specimens tuned by hours upon hours of consistent daily work over a long duration of time.

Please take a step back and ask yourself this question:

“Why is looking a certain way more important than functioning a certain way?”

Come in and work so hard to be a healthy person and will not only look amazing but you will function amazingly and set a super awesome example for anyone and everyone associated with you.

Can I just take the Olympic classes?
Sure, get a 2 day a week membership and only attend Olympic classes.

If a friend and I join, can we do a 2 person membership?
No, must be family and same household.

I can't afford the membership, can I get it for cheaper?
We have multiple options to fit your budget.

Do you have large group discounts?
Yes, Ask us (FYI: you and a friend is not a large group)

Do you have awesome people discounts?
Ask us, maybe we do.....
